Pamela Jean Payne Stewart, 67, of Statesville, died Sunday, July 22, 2018 at her home.
She was born in Iredell County on May 27, 1951 to the late Paul Newton Payne and Lorene Wiles Payne.
Pam graduated from Hiddenite High School and Appalachian State University with an EDS for Administration. She was retired from Iredell-Statesville Schools as an Administrator. Pam was a member of Western Avenue Baptist Church where she was a CEF Board Member. She loved her Lord, her grandchildren, flowers, and scrapbooking with her best friend, Mary Anne Wilson. Pam also loved her farm and sitting on the porch with her husband, Dennis, whom she married on November 20, 1971.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ginny Stewart, and her brother, Johnny Payne.
Surviving are Pam’s husband, Dennis, a daughter, Paula Zahm (David), a son, Jason Stewart (Chrissy), and two granddaughters, Mila and Mallory Stewart.
Funeral services for Pam will be held Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Western Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Spry and Dr. Andy Lackey officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.The family will visit with family and friends Wednesday, July 25, 2018, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
